ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
James Steele has been a member of RVYC since 2017, having been a member of CFSA for the previous 27 years.
Upon his retirement as a Captain in the Royal Canadian Navy, James obtained his Transport Canada Master Mariner certificate and worked for BC Ferries for 7 years in the Fleet and as Manager, Marine Safety and Operational Training. He later joined a group delivering marine safety training to the operators of small commercial vessels both on the BC Coast and across Western Canada and the Arctic.
Currently, he delivers various marine training courses at Camosun College as well as a Pilot Preparation Course for the Pacific Pilotage Authority.
He and his wife have a CAL 34 which is their "getaway" in the summer months.
