A Classic Northwest Passage - Unpredictable
David and Pat Clinton-Baker, along with Janet Renouf, signed up to sail the Northwest Passage aboard the Akademik Sergey Vavilov, with David serving as ship’s doctor. But sometimes Nature has different ideas: the ice melting in northern Greenland drifted south and plugged many passages. It stopped the Vavilov’s voyage cold, so to speak, and the adventure ship had to improvise.
Storytellers David and Janet will delight us with tales of the joys and challenges of being a ship’s doctor—and tourist—at the unpredictable top of the world. Pat took the family shot below.
